Insect
Amy found this in the tree. I'm assuming it's a cicada. Since we're studying insects in science it was good she saw it. Connections are being made even with the creepy, crawly.
It might be possible to see the shed "skin" which is the process which produces the loud chirping we hear at night. I don't know if the skin stays adhered to the tree or if it falls to the ground. Another example of God's unfathomable creativity! Thanks for the reminder.
Yes, that is definitely a cicada. When we lived in Nebraska, we saw a cicada without the shell. It was amazing how big and colorful it was compared to the shell.
