Needing Encouragement

2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 NKJV
"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one."

Feel free to leave comments about what encourages you.

I'm encouraged to see how many people are talking and trying to do something peacefully but firmly about the Child Protection law to make it more reasonable and workable. ;-) That's not a spiritual angle, but I am encouraged by that!

On a spiritual level, I'm SO thankful to know that God cares about EVERYTHING!!! We had over 25 lbs. of organic spelt flour in our deep freezer when we lost power for four days after the high winds hit. Even though we ran a generator a.m. and p.m. for a few hours, and kept our meat, the flour was ALL RANCID and NASTY. (It had been perfectly fine before!) We had been plodding along trying to disguise it and use it up . . . and finally had to start on the last 25 lb. bag here a few days ago. Charity and I were SO discouraged about trying to bake with the stuff, and even though I kept trying to encourage her I dreaded the thought of having to use up that last big bag, but I knew we couldn't afford to pitch it. Lo and behold, when Charity opened it up and began to use it, she brought me some to smell--"Mom--smell this--does it smell rancid to you any more?!" I sniff. No!! It smells FRESH AND NUTTY--as if it was freshly ground! We warmed it up. . . STILL fresh and nutty! I began verbalizing some thanks and praise to God, and Charity said, "I prayed God would fix that last bag of flour--I didn't think I could handle eating any more stale stuff!" PTL! I am so happy to serve a God who can heal stale, rancid flour and make it smell and taste as good as any flour we have ever had! (And lest someone think we just hadn't checked that last bag, and maybe it was OK all along . . . no, we had checked it, and it was just as nasty as the other container we had . . . !)

I am seeing many young 20/30 somethings taking the lead in the church by being willing to implement classes, services, etc. without being cajoled into doing so, but by simply getting in and doing.

I am thrilled to see the church being involved more in service within the community (letting her light shine).
